  1. Is this course right for me?
    This course is a part of the Cessna Pilot Training System. It works best if you are training at a flight school using the training syllabus or if your flight instructor is using the included course syllabus. This course will prepare you for the following FAA exams:
    • Instrument Flight Instructor (CFII)
    • Instrument Ground Instructor (IGI)
  2. What are the system requirements for this course?
    Online course media requires a PC or Mac computer with a broadband Internet connection. In addition, your course(s) will work on any Apple or Android mobile device with a web browser. We recommend using Mobile Safari, Chrome or Edge.
  3. Do I need an Internet connection to view the course materials?
    While using the course in your internet browser, you will need to be connected to the internet. When not connected to the Internet, the free King Schools Companion App allows you to view your online course(s) on an iPad or iPhone. This free app is available through the App Store by searching for "King Schools Companion."
  4. Are the courses current?
    KING courses are up-to date with the latest information and subjects areas the FAA wants you to know. KING online courses contain FAA-style questions which are representative of all the subject areas the FAA tests.
    Warning: You can’t just memorize test questions and expect to pass your FAA Instrument Instructor Written Test. Why? The FAA used to make their test question banks publicly available; however, they have not done so for many years. In fact, the FAA has recently gone through their entire database and changed every single test question and answer in order to eliminate test question memorization. No one, including test prep educators, has access to the FAA question banks. To be a safe and competent pilot-in-command, and to pass your required tests, there is no shortcut. You must acquire the necessary pilot knowledge.
    Online Course Media - Your online course is always up-to-date as the course is automatically updated whenever changes occur.
  5. Is there a particular order to follow?
    Most students using this course are training in conjunction with a flight program that follows the flight training syllabus included in the course. If you are training with an independent flight instructor or with a Part 61 flight school, you may want to share the syllabus with them so they can follow the training outlined in the syllabus.
  6. What if I have a question? Is there a CFI available?
    King Schools does have a staff of flight instructors available to answer questions you may have regarding the course content. If you have questions regarding flying elements, you will want to direct those questions to your flight instructor.
  7. Do I need an endorsement to take the CFII or IGI tests?
    You do not need an endorsement to take your knowledge test. However, when you take your Practical Test (Checkride), you will need a logbook endorsement from an authorized instructor.
  8. How do I access my Course Completion Certificate?
    Once you have completed all the lessons and answered all the questions in each lesson, you´ll be able to print out your completion certificate.
  9. Can I access the course material after I have completed the course?
    You have lifetime access to your courses. Remember, with the online media, the course is also automatically updated and will always be current.
